With Chef John, it’s always something. 

This refined culinary hero hails from the picturesque town of Ipswich outside Boston. Clambakes and steamers are a sure fire way to get him reminiscing about home and his family pets. 

Chef John has a soft spot for butchery courtesy of one of his mentors and loves to fuse diverse flavors together to create true magic in the kitchen. To him, food fosters valued connection between people and he loves delivering unexpected flavors and combinations to his guests. 

He’s down to earth, humble and eager to please. 

Unassuming and talented, he’s been around the block and has the expertise to show for it. Chef John’s first culinary gig was being bribed (by his best friend of course) with donuts and coffee to wash dishes and ever since he’s been hooked on the kinetic rhythm found in professional kitchens.

Opening Punchbowl Tavern in Brookline amongst two incredible colleagues is one of his favorite culinary experiences to date.

An avid Dungeons & Dragons fan, Chef John also fosters a hidden talent for knitting and embroidering while reading. If you’re a frequent driver on route 1A, you’re bound to hear him singing in his car at some point. We hear he takes requests too!
