Bold, soulful cooking rooted in tradition and shaped by modern technique.
Chef Jada H. brings together the vibrant energy of Chicago with the deep culinary roots of her family’s Southern heritage in Arkansas and Mississippi. Her cooking is a reflection of both — blending soulful Southern traditions with globally inspired technique to create dishes that feel familiar, yet distinctly modern.Jada began cooking professionally at just 14 years old, quickly building a foundation that would take her into some of Chicago’s most respected kitchens. She has worked in acclaimed restaurants including Monteverde, Frontera Grill, RPM Steak, RPM Italian, and the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago, gaining experience across a wide range of cuisines and techniques.
Her early talent and dedication earned her a full scholarship to the Culinary Institute of America while still in high school, where she went on to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Business of Culinary Arts. She is currently continuing her education with a focus on nutrition, further expanding how she approaches food and its impact.
Jada’s experience extends beyond Chicago as well. During her time at Walt Disney World Resort, she had the opportunity to work alongside renowned chefs like Daniel Boulud and Marcus Samuelsson, further shaping her perspective and refining her craft.
Her cooking is guided by both discipline and curiosity. She approaches each dish with intention — whether she’s refining technique, building flavor, or exploring something new. The result is food that feels grounded, expressive, and thoughtfully executed.
Outside of the kitchen, Jada enjoys staying active through tennis and dance, and exploring creative outlets like candle making. At home, she’s kept company by her blue-nosed pitbull, Hiram.
