While I gravitate to Italian cuisine, and elevated comfort food, I’m also well versed in homemade meatballs (my son’s favorite), pot roast Sundays, and homemade soups.
Growing up in Rhode Island (in a little town called Exeter), my fondest memories of cooking are in my Aunt Susan’s kitchen. I give her full credit for my culinary foundation.
The moment in the movie Anchorman when Steve Carell starts to improv, and says “I love lamp” is a great reference to my sense of humor. It came about from those moments in life when everything that can go wrong, does go wrong. The absurdity reminds me to take a deep breath and just say “I love lamp”. This was a technique that my past kitchen staff loved, it kept them calm, cool and collected.
